Holy Illumination
After a period of formation, both of the mind and of the heart, when the priest and catechumen determine it is time, the catechumen prepares to enter into the Church through the Mysteries of Repentance and Confession, and of Holy Illumination, which we have spoken of previously. Catechumens who have not previously been baptized with water, “in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” receive both Baptism and Chrismation. Those Catechumens who have been so Baptized are received with Chrismation only.
